Red Hat EMEA Partner Summit took place this year in Spain's Valencia, the message was open standards and cooperation. In this article, I'll try to describe the most interesting things and tips from the conference.

Enlogit, a Red Hat Premier Partner was of course there, as every year. The temperature and weather wasn't so bad, however even this year it wasn't that good so we could swim.

Czech delegation consisted of colleagues from Servodata, a Czech Master Distributor of Red Hat, colleagues from training division of Servodata, and partners from Czech Republic and Slovakia.

The first keynote was give by Jim Whitehurst, President and Chief Executive Officer Red Hat, the topic was “The Open Source Oppurtunity”.

Red Hat ensured everyone, that the cloud vision is good choice and is build on basis which the community stands behind. Red Hat will deliver one of the best clouds. Everything is and will be build on open-source tools and software (cloud tools will be able to manage almost every virtualization technology - Xen, KVM, RHEV, VMware, Hyper-V etc.). The customer won't be forced to use one vendor solution for the full stack.

Amazon delivered a special Amazon Lab training for the attendees of the conference. Attendees heard how does Amazon look on cloud and where will things go in the future, with Red Hat cooperation. Red Hat created a new business and technology division, which goal is to create new tools and products for cloud solutions.

One of the components which is changing current virtualization market (component of cloud), and which breaks virtualization barriers, is Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization (RHEV).

Upcoming RHEV 2.3 will be very technically similar to other current proprietary virtualization solutions (VMware, Citrix, ...). RHEV 3 will go further and beyond other vendors, but still with open-source spirit and open standards.

Attendees of the conference were introduced to RHEV release plan, including new technology features.

RHEV 2.3 will be based on RHEL 6, which will introduce a lot of technological innovations.

In short time RHEV will feature new component called Red Hat VDI (with release of RHEV 2.2), new desktop virtualization solution, which price will be 50% cheaper then other similar solutions can offer.

This year JBoss presentations confirmed that JBoss is nm.1 middleware solution on the market. We were introduced to JBoss product roadmap and it's new components.
Some of them will be introduced shortly this year. JBoss will be a big player as a part of possible cloud Red Hat components.

I feel really good about the whole Summit, Red Hat confirmed it's leadership and technological visionary, and that's the reason why they open product portfolio for new areas.
The base for Red Hat is and will stay open-source software and open standards.
